Brazen Hussies Screening 24 May

Join us on Monday 24 May to watch ‘Brazen Hussies’ the feature film documentary about the Australian feminist movement in the decade 1965 – 1975. The screening will be at 6pm at the Palace Cinema, Norton Street Leichhardt.  This screening supports the work of the Library.

Celebrate some of the women featured in the film who will join the Library’s Chair Jozefa Sobski for a panel discussion after the screening:

  • Daniela Torsh feminist and writer was a member of Sydney Women’s Film Group, Refractory Girl and Women in Education.
  • Barbara Levy lived at 67 Glebe Point Road where Sydney Women’s Liberation met and was part of early MeJane Collective
  • Suzanne Marks was part of the WEL 1972 Questionnaire designers , and
  • Margo Moore was part of the collective which set up CONTROL the abortion referral service and then Leichhardt and Liverpool Women’s Health Centres in the early 1970s, and later a member of the Communist Party of Australia.
